Yoga for Constipation Relief

Oncology Yoga Beginner’s Series

Join Tari Prinster, founder of yoga4cancer, for a short sequence to improve digestive, elimination and reduce the risk of constipation as part of our Beginners Series for Cancer Patients and Survivors.

Many people are not aware that cancer treatments can cause constipation. This side effect is very common, uncomfortable and can impact treatments schedules if the constipation becomes severe. Yoga has been proven to support the elimination process and regular bowel functioning. This short sequence is designed to support cancer patients to prevent and manage constipation beyond treatments. Also, it helps a cancer survivor achieve movement recommendations.

Healthcare leaders like the American Cancer Society recommend that all cancer patients and survivors get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise – like active yoga practice – each and every week.

This class and the others provided in the Oncology Yoga Beginners Series are taught by certified yoga4cancer professionals. Our goal with Yoga Alliance is to provide the motivation and means to achieve the movement recommendations for cancer recovery and survivorship and to manage the many side effects that cancer survivors might face.
