Yoga for Bone Loss

Oncology Yoga Beginner’s Series

Join Teri Gandy-Richardson, a yoga4cancer Certified Teacher, for a short sequence to build bone strength and improve overall health as part of our Beginners Series for Cancer Patients and Survivors.

Bone loss is a serious and common side effect of cancer treatments that is often overlooked. It can have a detrimental impact on the health and well-being of cancer survivors, long after treatment. Supporting bone health should be part of every cancer survivor’s health plan, and yoga has been proven to be a safe and effective way to support bone health!

Healthcare leaders like the American Cancer Society recommend that all cancer patients and survivors get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise – like active yoga practice – each and every week.

This class and the others provided in the Oncology Yoga Beginners Series are taught by certified yoga4cancer professionals. Our goal with Yoga Alliance is to provide the motivation and means to achieve the movement recommendations for cancer recovery and survivorship and to manage the many side effects that cancer survivors might face.
