Yoga for Range of Motion

Oncology Yoga Beginner’s Series

Join Karen Apostolina, a yoga4cancer Certified Teacher, for a short sequence to improve range of motion and overall health as part of our Beginners Series for Cancer Patients and Survivors.

Surgeries and other treatments can cause limited range of motion in joints and muscles for a cancer patient and survivor. This common side effect can be pain and reduce routine daily functioning.  It is easily managed with a yoga practice.  This short sequence is designed to improve range of motion and support exercise recommendations.

Healthcare leaders like the American Cancer Society recommend that all cancer patients and survivors get at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise – like active yoga practice – each and every week.

This class and the others provided in the Oncology Yoga Beginners Series are taught by certified yoga4cancer professionals. Our goal with Yoga Alliance is to provide the motivation and means to achieve the movement recommendations for cancer recovery and survivorship and to manage the many side effects that cancer survivors might face.
