The Self Study Approach allows trainees to invest in the support they need—when they need it.

At yoga4cancer, our mission is to reach and support as many cancer patients and survivors as possible. To do this, we must train a growing number of yoga and healthcare professionals in safe, evidence-informed Oncology Yoga.

To make this goal sustainable—especially in the face of rising costs and limited external funding—we’ve made a bold shift: offering our world-renowned, 20+ year program in a self-study format. This model lowers the cost for both trainees and our foundation, while maintaining the high standards and comprehensive content that define our method.

The self-study format empowers participants to:

  • Take ownership of their learning
  • Engage with the resources and tools provided
  • Progress at their own pace
  • Build independence and accountability as an Oncology Yoga professional

This approach has been tested and proven effective. It allows us to stretch limited resources and train more professionals—bringing healing to more people around the world.

Need More Support? Add What Works for You.

We also recognize that every learner is different. Some may benefit from additional guidance—especially if they are newer to yoga teaching, unfamiliar with self-directed learning, or simply prefer more personal support.

To meet these needs, we offer two Add-Ons for:

  • 121 Mentorship: Personalized guidance from experienced y4c professionals
  • Technical Support: Help navigating the platform or program requirements

This flexible model allows you to customize your training experience—adding the support you value, without paying for services you don’t need.

You’re in control. We’re here to support you—every step of the way.

121 Mentorship
60 Mins (Add On)

This optional upgrade provides direct access to a mentor who can help you confidently navigate your Oncology Yoga journey. Use your sessions to get support with:

  • Anatomy or Biology Review – If your previous training included limited anatomy, a focused 30-minute session can help clarify key biological concepts relevant to cancer care.
  • Practical Application Guidance– Need feedback before stepping into a teaching role? A mentor can help refine your delivery and boost your confidence.
  • Practicum Support – If your practicum reveals areas for improvement, 1:1 mentorship can help you bridge the gaps and successfully meet certification requirements.
