Financial Aid for Oncology Yoga Professionals
Sometimes we all need a little help from our friends.
Getting an advanced certification to safely teach yoga to cancer survivors isn’t always affordable. For many in our community — yoga teachers, healthcare providers, and survivors themselves — the cost can feel daunting.
In recent years, we’ve seen a positive shift: more participants are securing funding directly from cancer centers, hospitals, and community institutions to support their training. Part of our mission is to encourage and guide individuals in finding these opportunities, then working with us to complete their Oncology Yoga certification.
At the same time, the landscape for small nonprofits – like ours – has become increasingly challenging. Rising operational costs, more competitive grant funding, and a significant reduction in individual donations have forced many socially-minded yoga nonprofits to scale back — and some to close entirely. We have also had to reduce services and evolve our delivery model.
To remain sustainable and expand access, we transitioned to a more cost-efficient self-study format — reducing tuition for every participant through a built-in $400 reduction. So basically a scholarship for everyone!
We remain deeply committed to this work and to the community we serve. We ask for your understanding — and your partnership — as we navigate this period of transition.

Creating access for all
Built-In Scholarship
At yoga4cancer, our mission is to train as many yoga and healthcare professionals as possible—so more people affected by cancer can safely benefit from Oncology Yoga.
To sustain this work, we transitioned our 75-Hour Certificate Program to a self-study format. This allows us to maintain the same rigorous, evidence-informed training while significantly lowering tuition.
✨ A Built-In $400 Scholarship✨
- Previous tuition: $1,899
- Current tuition: $1,499
That’s a $400 reduction for every participant—essentially a built-in scholarship.
The self-study model offers flexibility, independence, and affordability—while preserving the depth and quality of our 20+ year methodology.
Optional mentorship and technical support are available for those who want additional guidance.

Leverage Your Community
Getting the certification and qualifications to teach Oncology Yoga isn’t always affordable. We know for many of our community the costs are daunting. Also, we know for many of our trained teachers setting up a class can be expensive. We face the same challenges and we work hard to provide scholarships through fundraising and grants. We also ask our community to do the same. Together we are better!
Past and present students have used crowd-fundraising to successfully raise funds to participate in training programs. It’s guaranteed success if you put in the work and due diligence. Plus it creates awareness of your certification, attracts future students, and helps to gain visibility with local hospitals and cancer centers so that ultimately your certification is being well used and rewarded.
Organization Sponsorship
Leverage Your Employer or Hospital
Many cancer centers, hospitals and institutions are investing in Integrative Oncology Services like yoga. They require training and thus provide funding for training.
About 50% of our trainees receive funding from their institutions, either in part or full, to participate in the training. Plus, it provides the necessary motivation to enhance the Oncology Yoga program at the institution and provide safe and effective interventions.
