A requirement of the yoga4cancer Certificate Program is a submission and review of a 25 minute video practicum. That assignment is provided in the program. Below outlines guidance for students that are needing additional support in uploading the assignment. Please use in conjunction with guidance provided in the program.
Once you have followed the instructions to develop and record your practicum, the process to upload is as follow.
- Click the button labelled “Upload Video Practicum” in the program
- On the DropBox page, “Add” or Drag the appropriate file. Again, be sure it is labelled properly so we can identify your submission accurately.
- Enter your name and email
- Click Upload
- Receive the Confirmation notification and email (please check spam)
Some common questions and errors.
Do I need a Dropbox account? No. The link uses a Dropbox File Request, which means anyone can upload without creating an account.
What format should my video be? We accept .mp4 and .mov files. Please make sure your video is clearly viewable and the audio is audible throughout.
How should I name my file? Please rename your file before uploading using this format: FirstName_LastName_Practicum.mp4 This helps us match your submission to your enrollment without delays.
How large can my file be? Dropbox handles large video files well. If your file is very large (over 2GB), consider compressing it first using a free tool like HandBrake, or see here for alternatives.
How will I know my submission was received? You’ll receive a confirmation notification on your computer screen and an email from Dropbox at the address you enter during upload. If you don’t see it, check your spam folder.
How long does feedback take? Details on the process of review is outlined in the program. You’ll receive feedback by email from a member of the y4c team within 2 weeks of submission.
What are common mistakes to avoid?
- Submitting a link (Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo) instead of an actual file
- Uploading an editing project file instead of an exported .mp4 or .mov
- Not accurately naming your file before upload
- Entering a typo in your email address — double-check before submitting so you receive confirmation
- Uploading on a phone — inconsistent behavior on mobile is common; a laptop or desktop is recommended
- Uploading on a slow or unstable connection — large files can fail mid-way without a clear error; if this happens, check your connection and try again
What if I have a technical problem uploading? Visit yoga4cancer.com/support-for-trainees or bring your question to the next Office Hours session (held the 4th Tuesday of each month).
