Terms and Conditions 75 Hour Certificate Program

There are specific requirements and eligibility standards for participants of the 75 hour yoga4cancer Certificate Program. All participants are required to accept the terms and conditions during the registration process, in addition to general Terms of ServicePrivacy Policy and Waiver of Liability. Therefore, upon registration, participants agree to adhere to the following:

Yoga Experience Prerequisite

A minimum of 200 hour yoga training is required for participation in the 75 hour Certificate program. The yoga4cancer Certificate program is an advanced yoga teaching program designed to deepen existing yoga teaching experience to best serve cancer patients and survivors. It is not designed, nor can replace, the value of a +200 hour yoga teacher certification.

Prior yoga teaching experience of at least one year is strongly recommended. Any inquiries regarding eligibility should be sent to info@yoga4cancer.com prior to payment and program registration.

Technical & Online Learning Requirements

This program is conducted fully online and therefore requires experience, understanding and interest in a training that is conducted via computers and the internet. Upon registration, a participant agrees to the following:

    • I understand that I must have access to a computer to participate in the Program. This does not require ownership of a computer but I must have access to a computer through alternative means (such as via cafes, libraries, schools or work).

    • I understand that all aspects of the training must be done while connected to the Internet and often requires significant bandwidth or WIFI strength. If a participants WIFI is found to be sub optimal and causing problems, it is required that a participant find alternative WIFI access points (e.g. internet cafes, increase bandwidth, etc).

    • I agree that my website browser and any associated computer software will be updated according to the providers. Google Chrome is recommended to access the program.
    • I understand that the program is accessible via smart phones, tablets and other devices, but this is not always recommended as some elements or assignments are better completed via a computer (e.g. written assignments).

    • I understand that to participate in this program, I must have experience and solid understanding of computers. Moreover, I must have a willingness to use technology which might include learning new skills.

    • I confirm that I can record a video of myself teaching (via phone, computer, tablet or camera).

    • I confirm that I can or will learn to upload to that video to cloud-based platform (Vimeo) or drive. This is a requirement for program participation and submission of the required teaching practicum. Instructions are provided to support.

    • I agree to review and use the Technical Assistance Guidance provided. I understand that many issues that are encountered are easily resolved after following guidelines and do not require additional support. I agree that I will review guidance and submit a Support request based on provided tools.

    • I agree that if specific technical support is required and the issue is identified to be unique to my personal computer, internet, software or experience, I will pay an additional fees (+$30 per request) for additional administrative support.

Program Transfers & Extensions

Our goal is to help individuals achieve certification and go out to safely and effectively support cancer survivors. We recognize and know that often both personal and professional challenges can impact well-intended training plans. So, we provide Program Transfer or Extensions option.

However, these students require both increased administration and technical support. A fee of $250 to cover these expenses will be required. Below details program transfer / extension requirements:

Transfers: For programs with a set start and end date.  (The evergreen / self-study participants please see Extensions.)

    • Program transfer requests must be submitted in writing to the yoga4cancer Team with the following information: 1) reasons for transferring; 2) request of new program and agreement to deadlines of the new session (if they are known); 3) confirmation and understanding of the Transfer Fee.
    • Approval of the transfer is up to the sole discretion of the yoga4cancer Team. Some restrictions between programs exist.
    • If the Program Transfer is approved, the participant may be required to pay the transfer fee and any increase in tuition for the new program prior to start of the new program. All fees paid for the program will be viewed as a credit to the new program.
    • Transferring between programs can have an impact on access to the program content.
    • Transferring might require an individual to restart the Online Program due to technical restrictions.  Individuals should view this as a learning opportunity.
    • If the transfer request is for a program that has yet to open registration, participants are responsible for contacting yoga4cancer prior to the start of the requested program.
    • A transfer is only allowed once.

Extensions: For programs that are evergreen or self-study in format (with no start or end date) participants can request an extension if the 1 year of access will not be sufficient.

  • Program extension requests must be submitted in writing to the yoga4cancer Team with the following information: 1) reasons for extending; 2) either 3 months or 6 month extension 3) confirmation of the required Administration Fee.
  • Transferring might require an individual to restart or redo parts of the Online Program due to technical restrictions.  Individuals should view this as a learning opportunity.
  • Approval of the extension is up to the sole discretion of the yoga4cancer Team. Some restrictions apply.
  • An extension is only allowed once.

Program Changes or Cancellations by yoga4cancer or Partner:

In cases of extreme circumstances, yoga4cancer might be forced to reschedule, change or cancel a program. Cancellation will only occur if all other options have been exhausted.

    • For program changes or rescheduling, yoga4cancer will provide clear explanation of the reason for the change and provide at least one option to enable participants to complete their program and gain certification. Any option will be sent via email and posted to the website. If more than one option is provided, participants must confirm agreement by provided deadlines or yoga4cancer will automatically assign an option. Participants of the program must adhere to all communicated program deadlines and scheduling. If inquiries are submitted to program administrators, achieving program deadlines shall not rely on waiting for a response. Delayed responses to communications from students is not a reason for failure to achieve program schedule or deadlines.

    • If the program has not started and cancellation is required, the student will receive a full refund.

    • If the program has started and cancellation without rescheduling option is required, student will be provided a partial refund based on the individual’s program progress.

Certification Requirements

Our commitment is to ensure that all certified yoga4cancer teachers can provide a safe and effective Oncology Yoga intervention. Our program is designed to help anyone achieve that requirement and be successful.

The Video Practicum assignment allows yoga4cancer to verify the skills, safety and efficacy of any teacher in training. Successful approval of the practicum submission is required to gain certification. Our mentors provide specific guidance and feedback to all participants and sometimes require a resubmission of the Practicum.

On occasions, a resubmission is not successful and additional support is recommended to the teacher in training. This additional support is individual specific and often will incur additional fees. Our goal is always to support the participant to gain certification and ensure the safety of the cancer survivors we collectively serve.

Please note that an unsuccessful practicum is not the only reason an individual might not successfully achieve certification with yoga4cancer. In rare occasions, there might be other reasons that cause the yoga4cancer Mentors and Team to evaluate an individual as lacking in the skills and experience to provide a safe and effective Oncology Yoga classes, sessions and interventions. yoga4cancer will also try to provide alternatives and / or additional support in all cases.

The Certification process and status is up to the sole discretion of the yoga4cancer Team.

Professional Conduct Policy

As a participant in the Certificate Program, you are undertaking a professional training designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively teach Oncology Yoga to cancer patients and survivors. This program is an academic and professional development program—not a therapeutic program for personal cancer recovery. While the content may be emotionally resonant, it is intended for the professional development of teachers and practitioners.

To uphold the integrity of the program and ensure a safe, respectful, and effective learning environment, all trainees are expected to adhere to the following standards of conduct:

1. Professional Engagement
  • Trainees must engage with the curriculum and complete assignments, practices, and evaluations as instructed.
  • Active participation in live sessions, mentoring, and peer interactions must reflect professionalism, respect, and a commitment to learning.
  • Communication with mentors, staff, and fellow trainees should be timely, courteous, and constructive.
2. Use of Program Resources
  • All materials provided (videos, manuals, assignments, assessments, etc.) must be used solely for the purpose of this professional training.
  • Trainees are expected to follow the guidance, sequencing, and techniques as outlined in the curriculum to ensure consistency and safety in Oncology Yoga instruction.
3. Personal Health Boundaries
  • This program is not intended as a substitute for medical treatment or personal therapeutic intervention. If you are currently undergoing cancer treatment or recovery, you are welcome to participate, but your engagement should remain focused on professional development.
  • Trainees must be able to separate their personal experiences with cancer from their professional responsibilities as future Oncology Yoga teachers.
4. Respect and Confidentiality
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect for personal stories shared within the program community.
  • Discriminatory, harassing, or otherwise inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the program.
5. Academic Integrity
  • All work submitted must be your own and reflect your own understanding and effort.
  • Utilization of Artificial Intelligence, falsification of assignments, assessments, or mentoring documentation is grounds for immediate dismissal. Please review the program terms and conditions for more information.
6. Support and Communication Protocol
  • The yoga4cancer team is committed to supporting your success through structured channels including the help desk, live events and the included mentorship.
  • Optional support add-ons—such as Technical Support and 121 Mentorship—are available for those who need additional guidance. These services are offered to meet varying learning styles and levels of experience and must be used within the professional framework provided.
  • All support inquiries must follow program protocols. Requests outside the defined systems or expectations of special accommodation will not be honored.
  • Support communications should remain solution-oriented and professional. Inappropriate or emotionally charged communications are not acceptable and may result in intervention or dismissal.
  • The program is designed to foster independent learning—self-responsibility is a foundational skill for all Oncology Yoga professionals.

Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Programs

Intellectual honesty and comprehension of the material is vital to our mission. Our goal is to ensure our teachers have the understanding of both cancer and yoga to provide safe and effective Oncology Yoga interventions to cancer patients and survivors. Therefore, all work submitted in this program must be your own. You may not engage in unauthorized collaboration or make use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). We have a zero tolerance approach. If we identify that AI is used in an assignment, we will immediately alert the student, provide examples and the individual will be removed from the program. They will have a chance to appeal the decision and transfer (including the above fee) to another program.

We will endeavor to review this policy as the Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to evolve. For now, our goal is to ensure comprehensive and intellectual integrity of our program and community.
